Business Focus Burton – Celebrates First Anniversary

Business Focus Burton (BFB), a Burton breakfast networking group, was formed a year ago with around ten members. A year on and the not for profit, support network has reported membership figures have doubled.

 

On July 4th they marked the celebration with a social BBQ for members and now want to spread the word about the new one seat networking group held at the Riverside Hotel, Branston every Thursday at 7.15am.

 

Scott Durband, of SJD Electrical who is a member, said: “It has changed my working life, I can now speak confidently. My work is valued and acknowledged, and I know how to take my business forward.”

 

This year the group has welcomed a new baby, had a trip to The Household Division private enclosure at Epsom Races, a regular Christmas Lunch and invitations to a host of quality networking and social events. The group is visiting a vineyard, distillery, and fishery in August, with more social events planned.

 

Leaders report a “considerable amount of work” has been exchanged and referred between members, now that trust and understanding has been established.

 

Members include a Master Locksmith, fire door qualified, web design and SEO, design and advertising, marketing, PR, copywriting and social media. Other members provide proof reading, copy-editing, photography, professional electrical works, mortgages and equity release by a trusted independent advisor.  A new magazine in Swadlincote has been launched, special travel offers and bespoke holidays are available, together with wills and probate, GDPR, privacy pages, training, CCTV and the latest technology in photobooths, to name a few.

 

The format is coffee on arrival at 7.15am, good news, 60 seconds including successes and the Tony Walton Cup for the best 60 seconds! a full English breakfast or lighter option, a ten minute presentation, two minute learning point, referrals and invitations. A 9am finish frees everyone to get on with their working day.

 

Talking at the first anniversary event, Sally McMahon, a guest representing Midlands Air Ambulance said, “It is a privilege to be here this morning, I love the atmosphere and the trust.”
