Are you still wondering what Small Business Saturday is all about?
Small Business Saturday UK is a grassroots campaign, which highlights small business success and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’ and support small businesses in their communities.
The day itself takes place on the first Saturday in December each year, but the campaign aims to have a lasting impact on small businesses. In 2017 Small Business Saturday is on Saturday, December 2nd. Customers spent £717m with small businesses on Small Business Saturday 2016, an increase of 15% on 2015 spending.
If you run, or work for, a small business, you can visit the national Small Business Saturday website and find lots of ways to get involved. You can download and print off this year’s poster and display it in your shop or office window. You can register and advertise your business – free of charge – on the Small Business Finder. This year, the small business finder is also available as a free-to-download app, so that you can find local, small independents when you are on the move.
