Business finance advice at May’s MeetUp@Marstons

Neil Davis and Jay Ellerton of Spectrum Financial Solutions

Two independent financial advisers will be providing free advice to local businesses at an open  networking event at Marston’s Brewery on May 18.

MeetUp@Marstons is a chance for businesses of all sizes, with an interest in boosting the local economy, to get together after office hours and make new connections.

This month there will be a 10-minute presentation by Neil Davis and Jay Ellerton of Staffordshire-based Spectrum Financial Solutions. They will be talking about ways to make tax savings and protect your business.  They will also be available to chat informally during the rest of the evening to those who attend about investments, pensions and other financial issues.

MeetUp@Marstons is a unique collaboration between the town’s iconic brewery and four Burton businesses who saw a gap in the local business networking scene to bring together companies to identify opportunities for collaboration, growth and development.

One of the organisers is Cheryl Morris of PR firm Creative Word. She said:  “MeetUp@Marstons provides a relaxed setting for local businesses to get to know more about each other. There’s no membership or joining fee and no exclusions on the types of businesses that can attend.”

Tickets for the event cost £10 and include one drink from the bar (either a pint of draft beer or a soft drink), unlimited tea and coffee and an unusual chocolate muffin made with Marston’s Pearl Jet Stout by the Burton-based Abbots Catering Co. Tickets must be booked online before noon on May 18th at

MeetUp@Marstons is held on the third Thursday of every month from 6pm to 8pm at the DE14 visitor centre at the DE14 visitor centre at Marston’s Brewery on Shobnall Road.

The other three businesses working with Marston’s to run this event are Caittom Publishing, run by writer and social media consultant Elaine Pritchard; HR Protected, run by  Liz Strama and Red Door Studios, run by Tilley Bancroft.
